Louisiana Tech has a solid defense but a weak offense, while New Mexico State’s offense is really bad. I expect this to be a dull game, with Tech likely running down the clock. They might or might not cover the spread depending on whether New Mexico scores late. I’m not keen on picking a side, but I do think the total points line is too high. Both teams recently had high-scoring games, but I believe those were more about their opponents than their true capabilities, as their overall body of work suggests otherwise.
